Welcome to Sangre Del Ángeles, a city built on death, destruction and deceit. The City that truly never sleeps. Where good and evil walk nearly hand in hand, and the boundaries between both are blurred beyond recognition. This is a city with many histories, each overlapping and intertwining to create what now outwardly appears to be a humble almost sleepy city that seems almost mundane in it’s daily routine. Yet within its borders dwells all kinds of supernatural species who live alongside mortals without them even realizing it.
Sangre Del Ángeles was originally the site of the small, peaceful, Pagan civilization of Laurde. In the early 1300s, a group of settlers arrived by boat on the shores of this area, claiming to be sent in the name of Spain to begin colonization and renaming the area to Sangre Del Ángeles, in the name of Spain, of course (though it wasn't until at least 200 years later that Spain even began establishing colonies).
When the settlers of La Madre Oscura had first arrived to establish their cult and bring about the eventual demise of the pagan civilization of Laurde, the Keep had already stood in ruin. Though at that time the walls still had a fresh fallen appearance to them, and the gold symbols were still sunken into certain stones at intervals throughout the architecture. The Oscura discovered and raided the Keep, stealing everything without once thinking to ask why the Pagans had never taken any of the gold and riches that had been buried there. Nor stopping to ponder why the ruins appeared to have been blasted outward instead of crumbled in upon itself as most buildings that were as battle scarred as this one was usually appeared to be.
Although the fact that the outer walls were apparently nearly 16 feet thick should have made them wonder at this type of demolition.
Still, they had cleaned the place out of all its precious artifacts in order to melt much of it down into items of their own use. Many of the gold cross-like symbols that had been sunken into the rocks of the walls had been scraped out and were crafted into relics for the worship of their own goddess Madre, while other items had simply been scattered amidst the Oscura to end up forgotten heirlooms hidden in the attics and basements of families.
Something that had upset many of the Pagans immensely and caused them to whisper about the eventual demise of the Oscura.
Now the Oscuridad is nothing but a faded memory to some who dwell in the city of Sangre Del Angeles, and to the rest it is a name only seen in their history books or on displays within the museum. Whether or not any descendants still exist is unknown. However, after half a millennium of imprisonment something was released when the Oscuridad ransacked the ruins and unwittingly took those items that had been used to keep it bound to those grounds. Freedom was not all that it thought it would be as there were still things that needed to be undone in order for ultimate power to be unleashed.
Something has been called, prophecies are unraveling, and the innocent shall be affected whether they like it or not because, hundreds of years after its release, something is coming home to finish unsettled business and finally break those ties that bind it.
